Why do we send troops around the world to get rid of terrorists who destroy cities and wantonly kill civilians... yet allow them to operate in the streets of our all our major cities...
Another child was killed while playing in her yard by some dumb schmuck with a gun. Seems to me that we should either clear these thugs from our cities or give them shooting lessons... at least that way they may hit what they are aiming at instead of little kids playing in their yards...

Quite a few years ago I read an article about a scanning device that was developed which would allow police to scan people on the street for guns, from the safety of the police car.
It was shocking to learn that police departments around the country opted not to purchase them. The reason? They didn't want to put their officers in jeopardy by having them approach armed people on the streets.
Dumb!
Why things like that continue to happen is a mighty good question. And fine whiner's info on that scanning device - why on earth would police around the world not want to be equipped with that kind of device?? That baffles my mind...
